Jim Cowan, Letterkenny

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Jim Cowan, Conwal, Letterkenny.

Jim will repose at his late residence from 7pm to 10pm today and from 12noon to 10pm tomorrow, Saturday.

Service in his late residence on Sunday at 2pm with burial afterwards in the family plot in Gortlee Cemetery .

Noel Lafferty, Killygordon

The death has occurred of Noel Lafferty, Carrickshandrum, Killygordon.

Mr Lafferty passed away at his late residence on Thursday, February 5.

Beloved husband of Margaret, much loved father to sons Glyn and David (Lisa), daughter Elaine, son in law Damien, dearly loved grandfather to Caitlin, Leaigh, Daithi, Kayla, Nicole, Danielle, cherished brother of Stephen (Susan), Doreen (Tommy), and the late Barney and Damien.

Predeceased by his parents Dan and Rosie.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his wife, sons, daughter, son in law, grandchildren, brother, sister, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his home this evening utnil 9pm and on Saturday, February 7 from 11am to 9pm.

Funeral leaving from his late residence on Sunday, February 8 at 12.30 pm for requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon at 1pm interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Noel Burke, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Noel Burke, Drumgorman, Mountcharles.

Mr Burke passed away peacefully at the Donegal Hospice on Thursday, February 5.

Predeceased by his father Tommy.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Kathleen, his children Pauric (Mary), Claire (Kyle), Marie (Mark), his grandchildren Mason, Ella, Eoghan and Oisin, and his mother Eilish.

Cherished brother of John James (Breda), Willie (Mary), Hugh (Rose), Ciaran, Brid, Geraldine (Michael), Kathleen (Tom), and Martina (Adrian).

Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at his late residence this evening until 9pm, and Saturday, February 7 from 2pm to 9pm.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, February 8 at 11.30am, in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles, with interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Tara Holden, Sligo and Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Tara Holden, Carrownacarrick, Coolaney, Sligo and formerly Mountcharles.

Ms Holden passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, February 5.

Predeceased by her dad James and her partner Lester Middleton.

Forever remembered by her son Shane, daughter Annaleigh, Shane’s partner Jennie, grand-daughter Sienna, her mother Pamela, sisters Elaine, Dawn, Pamela and Claire, brothers James and Stephen, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at J.P. Clarke’s Funeral Home, Coolaney (F56 K443), on Saturday, February 7, from 5 pm until 7 pm.

Tara’s funeral cortege will leave Dawn’s house on Sunday, February 8, at 1.40 pm to arrive at Rathbarron Parish Church for Service at 2 pm.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

House is strictly private at all times.

Bridget (Bridie) Farrell, Mountcharles and Dublin

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) Farrell, Drumduff, Mountcharles, Donegal and formerly of 35 Hammond Street, Blackpitts, Dublin.

Ms Farrell passed away peacefully at Aras Mhic Shuibhne, Laghey.

Predeceased by her husband Peter, sisters Emily and Betty and brother Jack.

Sadly missed by her children Liz and Paul, brothers Billy, Charlie and Bobby, sister Margaret, grandchildren Sara, Rachel, Anna, Peter, great grandchild Thea and son and daughter in law James and Irina.

Bridie will repose at her family home in Drumduff, F94NP93 this evening until 8 pm.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 9 at 10am at St Nicholas of Myra Church, Francis Street Dublin 8 followed by burial at Mount Jerome Cemetery, Harold’s Cross, Dublin.

Brian Richardson, Redcastle and Newcastle, UK

The sudden death has occurred at his home of Brian Richardson, Ballyargus, Redcastle, and formerly of Newcastle, United Kingdom.

Predeceased by his loving wife Ann, much-loved father of Sean and Sharon.

Deeply regretted by his grandchildren Arron, Kalem, Ryan, Zara, Craig, Adam and Ciara, his great-grandchildren Nathaniel, Mya, Tadhg, Ollie and Leilani, his daughter-in-law Tina, son-in-law Fred, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Brian’s remains will repose at his late residence (F93YNT2), where all are welcome to pay their respects.

Removal from there on Saturday morning at 9.20am going to St Columba’s Church, Drung for 10am requiem Mass, followed by cremation at Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan at 3pm.

Phil Ward, Arranmore Island

The death has occurred of Phil Ward, Arranmore Island.

Mr Ward passed away peacefully in Manchester on Monday, January 26.

He is predeceased by his siblings Nan, John, Nellie, Mona, Packie and James.

Sadly missed by his brothers Michael, Frank, Joe, sisters in law and a wide family circle of nephews, nieces, especially Monica who cared for him so well in Manchester, and friends.

His remains will arrive from Manchester on Saturday evening and will repose briefly at McGlynns Funeral Home, Dungloe with visitation from 5 until 7pm before travelling onwards to Arranmore.

Wake at the family home Leabgarrow from 2pm Sunday with Rosary at 8pm both nights.

Removal on Monday morning, February 9 for 11am Mass in Crones Church, Arranmore followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Seamus Doogan, Falcarragh

The death has occurred of Seamus Doogan, Ballyness, Falcarragh.

Mr Doogan passed away at Falcarragh Community Hospital on Wednesday, February 4.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son Micheal, his daughter Noreen, daughter-in-law Noeleen, his four grandsons James, John, Denis and Eamonn, his sister Sheila Geaney, his brother Fr Neillie, nieces, nephews and a large circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Predeceased by his wife Mary Frances, sisters Annie, Una and Mary and his brothers Joe and Manus.

His remains will repose at his late residence.

Rosary at 9.30pm.

Funeral Mass in St Finian’s Church, Falcarragh on Saturday, February 7 at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Joe McDaid, Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Joe McDaid, 33 Beechwood Road, Letterkenny.

Mr McDaid passed away peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital on Tuesday, February 3. Deeply regretted by his loving family, Patrick, Sheila, Brid, Joseph and Shaun, sons-in-law Iain and Renard, grandchildren Hugh, Emér, Sean, Marley, Deirdre and Isobel, sisters Peggy, Sadie, Frances and Julia, sister-in-law Mary, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his wife Anna Rose, brother John and sisters Catherine and Maura.

Remains reposing in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Gortlee, Letterkenny, overnight.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 7 at 11am.

Burial afterwards in St Columba’s Cemetery, Kilmacrennan.

Funeral Mass – Joe McDaid

Nora Cassidy, Teelin

The death has occurred of Nora Cassidy, Iomaire Mhuireanáin, Teelin.

Ms Cassidy passed away peacefully in the wonderful and gentle care of the staff at The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, Glasgow after a long illness on Saturday, January 31.

She is predeceased by her parents Con and Mary Kate Cassidy.

Beloved partner of Joe, Nora will be sadly missed by her sisters Katie and Peggy, her niece Siobhán, nephews Brendan and Shane, brothers-in-law John and Tommy and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

Removal to St Columba’s Church, Carrick this evening to arrive at 7pm, travelling via Killybegs.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 7 at 11 am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The family would like to thank you all for your kind support at this difficult time.

Dr Patrick Joseph (Joe) Mulholland, Dublin and Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Dr Patrick Joseph (Joe) Mulholland, Foxrock, Co Dublin and formerly of Stranorlar/Ballybofey.

Dr Mulholland was the former Managing Director of RTÉ and the former Director of the MacGill Summer School.

He passed away peacefully after a long illness surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of all the staff at St Vincent’s Private Hospital on Saturday, January 31.

Beloved husband of the late Annie (August 2025) and loving father of Fiona, Sylvain and Julien.

Predeceased by his brothers Raymond and Danny.

Sadly missed by his sons, daughter and her partner Geoff, sisters Celine and Elizabeth, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends in Ireland, England and France.

Reposing on Saturday from 2pm to 4pm in Fanagans Carnegies Funeral Directors, Monkstown, A94 XK28.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday, February 9 in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook followed by burial in Kilternan Cemetery Park, Ballycorus Road, D18 X22C.
