Richard Slater, Ballybofey

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Brian Richard Slater, 41 Lawndale, Navenny, Ballybofey.

Beloved husband of Bernadette, much loved father to Anthony, Matthew and the late Dianne and cherished niece Julie.

Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his loving wife, sons, niece, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at McCool’s Funeral Home, Ballybofey on Friday, February 20 from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday from 5pm to 9pm, concluding with Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral leaving from there on Sunday at 10.30am. Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill at 11am.

Interment in the adjoining churchyard.

The requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish youtube channel at https://youtube.com/@killygordonparish.

Patsy Gallagher, Bridgend

The death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice of Patsy Gallagher, 271 Skeoge Cottages, Bridgend.

Much loved father of Selena and Anita and dear brother of Eileen Devine and Angela Friel.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret, sisters, Margaret Callaghan, Rose Coyle, Francis Walsh and brother, John.

Deeply mourned and will be forever missed by his loving daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchild, sisters, brother, wider family circle and friends.

Patsy’s remains will be reposing at his late residence from 12 noon on Saturday, where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Monday morning, February 23 at 10.15am to St Aengus’ Church, Burt for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Fr John McLaughlin, Moville

The death has occurred of Fr John McLaughlin, Fr. SSC, Chile, Dublin Diocese, and Moville, peacefully at Nazareth House, Fahan.

Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Maureen, and sister, Anne (Farrell).

Deeply regretted by his brother, Dr.Tony, sister-in-law, Mary, nieces and nephews, Ian, Gary, Darina, Enda and Karol Farrell; Liz, Brian and Ruth McLaughlin, grandnieces and grandnephews and great-grandnephew, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of friends internationally, Archbishop of Dublin and priests of the diocese and his classmates and John’s Columban Confreres.

Reposing at St Columban, Summerhill, Moville today from 2pm until 9pm where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there on Saturday at 11.30am for 12pm requiem Mass in St Pius X Church, Moville followed by interment in Ballybrack Cemetery.

Dr James Brogan, Dunfanaghy

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Dr. James Brogan, 3 St Helens, Hornhead Road, Dunfanaghy, originally of Enniskillen.

Predeceased by his parents, Eddie and Josephine, brother, William and brother-in-law, Damian.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, Attracta, sons, Shane (Lillian), Feidhlim (Rebecca), daughters, Aoife and Eimear, grandchildren, Ciara, Liam, Roisin, Niamh, Oisin, Caoimhe, Fionn and Saoirse, siblings, Eddie (Ellen), Mary, Josephine (Harlow), his in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

No wake, house private to family only please.

Viewing will take place at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny on Saturday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm followed by removal to Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy for 7.30pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday at 11.30am at Holy Cross Church, Dunfanaghy.

John Joe McGee, Falcarragh

The death has occurred in the Lake House Nursing Home, Portnablagh of John Joe McGee, Moyra Glebe, Falcarragh.

Predeceased by his wife, Marjorie, parents, Katie and John Joe, and his brothers and sisters.

His remains will be reposing at his late residence today from 12pm to 9.15pm.

Rosary at 9.15pm.

House private after the rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 21,  in St Fionan’s Church, Falcarragh, F92 N6Y9 at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Michael Hegarty, Bridgend

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Michael Hegarty, Rivervale, Carrowreagh, Bridgend.

Beloved husband of Maureen, cherished father of Lynda (Rodney) McDermott, Claire (Conor Mulkerns), Lisa (Seamus Gill), and Eileen (David Hogg).

Dear brother of Patricia Smith, Brendan and Valerie Shanley.

Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Doris, his baby daughter, Valerie, brothers, Kenneth, Eunan and Kevin and sister, Rosemary Campbell.

Deeply mourned and will be forever missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sisters, extended family and friends.

Michael’s remains will be reposing at his late residence, where you are all welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Saturday morning at 10.15am to St Mura’s Church, Fahan for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Rosie Woods, Louth and Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Rosie Woods (née Byrne), Coventry, England and formerly of Drumgoolestown, Stabannon, Co Louth and Ballybofey.

Ms Woods passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8.

Predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Bridget and brother, Pat.

Rosie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, Robert, daughter, Laura and sons, Steven, Paul and George, son-in-law, Ryan and daughters-in-law, Sarah, Kelly and Emma, brothers, Tommy and Harry, adored grandchildren and great-grandson, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends in England, Stabannon and Donegal.

Rosie’s funeral will take place in Coventry on Thursday, March 5.

Pádraig Ó Dochartaigh, Derrybeg

The death has taken place in Áras Ghaoth Dobhair of Pádraig Ó Dochartaigh, Strand Road, Derrybeg.

His remains will repose at the family home today from 12pm until 8pm.

House private to family and friends only.

Pádraig’s funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 11am in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey ((F92 N668), interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

Nora O’Brien, Dublin and Leitirmacaward

The death has taken place of Nora O’Brien (née Macauley), Templeogue, Dublin and formerly of Leitirmacaward.

Peacefully on Monday, February 16, surrounded by her family at the Beacon Hospital.

Beloved wife of Tony and much-loved mother of Michael, Barbara and Ronan and the late Orla and Aoife.

Nora will be very sadly missed and forever remembered by her loving husband, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law, Stacey and Rita, son-in-law, Phil, grandchildren, Liam, Meghan, Finn, Iseult, Lara, Cormac, Emmeline, Daniel, James and Owen, her brother, Pat, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Templeogue Village, D6W AC82 today from 5pm to 7pm.

Removal on Saturday morning to St Pius X Church, Templeogue, D6W A611 arriving for 11am requiem Mass followed by a Cremation Service in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium.
