Death occurs of retired Garda Supt. Jim Gallagher

The sudden death took place at his Letterkenny home on Tuesday of retired Garda Superintendent Jim Gallagher.

Originally from Corr Point in Leitirmacaward, Mr Gallagher, who lived at Fallard/Calhame in Letterkenny, was the Superintendent at Letterkenny Garda Station for many years.

His funeral arrangements have been confirmed this evening. He will repose at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Thursday concluding with removal to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for reception prayers at 5pm.

He will repose overnight for 11am Requiem Mass on Friday. Mass will be followed by burial in Cill Bhríde Cemetery, Leitirmacaward.

Predeceased by his brothers Michael and Eamonn, Mr. Gallagher will be deeply missed by his loving wife Kathleen, daughters Jimelle and Ciara, sons Michael and James, son-in-law Shaun, grand-daughter Leah, grandson Noah, sisters Maureen, Anna and Dolores.
