FOLLOWING the success of Little John Nee’s album launch last Friday night the Regional Cultural Centre (RCC) Letterkenny continues its great Spring Music Programme with another important Northwest album launch concert on Saturday, March 7.
The exceptional jazz drummer, composer and record company head David Lyttle launches his third solo album ‘Faces’, recorded in New York, London, Dublin and David’s rural studio in Northern Ireland.
David Lyttle has been described as a ‘one-man industry’ for his work as a drummer, instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and record label owner.
His new album ‘Faces’ is a unique blend of soul, jazz, hip hop and dance, his collaborators including Irish music star Duke Special, hip hop legend Talib Kweli and Grammy-winning jazz icon Joe Lovano.
With major radio play around the world and live dates at home and abroad, 2015 is looking like Lyttle’s most high profile year to date.
Visiting Letterkenny for the first time since his Irish tour with Mercury nominated Soweto Kinch in 2009, his live band features ‘Faces’ collaborators Rhea Lyttle and Anne Lyttle on vocals, London-based rising rap star Zane, keyboardist John Leighton, bassist Keith Duffy of the Corrs and American saxophonist Meilana Gillard.
The David Lyttle band will be supported by Errigal Groove Orchestra members the Murray Brothers two of Donegal’s finest young musicians on sax and double bass.
