Dash cam footage is being sought by gardaí investigating an alleged assault in Letterkenny.

Gardaí say they are particularly interested in any sightings of or dash-cam footage of a man on foot in the area who is described as being in his early 60s, of stocky build, with grey/white hair, following the alleged incident on the Ramelton Road on Monday, August 25.

The incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 6pm near the bus stop that is located between the Station roundabout and the Oatfield roundabout.

A garda spokesperson said: “We are appealing to any motorists who may have been on that stretch of road with a dash-cam between 5.40pm and 6.15pm on that date to make the footage available to us.

“A taxi rank is situated very close by and we ask taxi drivers who may have been parked up in the area with a dash-cam to get in touch with us also. We are particularly interested in any sightings of or dash-cam footage of a man on foot in the area who is described as being in his early 60s, of stocky build, with grey/white hair. He was wearing a brown/beige jacket with a blue and white striped shirt underneath.

“If anyone can assist with information or dash-cam footage, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100. The Garda Confidential Line may be reached on 1800 666 111.”
