THE victim of Donegal’s latest road traffic collision will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
Danny Gallagher, of the Glebe, Downings was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle collision which occurred on the R245 at Carrigart at around 1pm on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Gallagher’s remains will be removed from the Eternal Chapel of Rest this afternoon at 4pm, going to his late residence.
Funeral from there on Wednesday going to the Church of St John the Baptist for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr Gallagher is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife Marian, his daughters Roisin and Sharon, his sons Seamus, Martin, Paul and Danny, brothers Ned and Micheal, sisters AnneMarie and Cait, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Meanwhile, gardaí continue to appeal to witnesses.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12.10pm and 1.10pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Milford Garda Station at (074) 915 3060, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
