SINGER Daniel O’Donnell has given local woman Sally Blake a special send off by singing at her funeral on Friday.
Sally, of 14 Ard O’Donnell, passed away last Tuesday in the care of the staff of Archview Lodge Nursing Home.
Requiem Mass was celebrated in St Eunan’s Cathedral on Friday at 11am.
Sad to hear of Sally’s passing, Daniel expressed heartfelt condolences to the Blake family.
“So sorry to hear of Sally’s death,” Daniel said.
“She travelled the world with us and was always ready to help if there was anything she could do.
“She worked tirelessly for the Romanian Challenge Appeal when we were fundraising for the charity.
“We send our sincere sympathy to all the Blake family at this sad time.
“Sally, we will never forget you,” he concluded.
Sally’s death on Tuesday has been met with deep sadness in her home town, and among all those who knew her.
Many memories of Sally’s life have been shared since her passing, with those gathering to pay their respects at her wake on Thursday sharing their own stories.
Her funeral on Friday was celebrated by Monsignor Kevin Gillespie and burial took place after Mass in Conwal Cemetery.
Sally is survived by her family, John, Michael, Alec (Kay) Limerick, nephews Michael (Mary) Leitrim, Paul (Emily) UK, nieces Breid (Australia), Marie (Rob) Limerick and Karen (Shane) Limerick, relatives, loyal visitors, neighbours and many friends.
