DONEGAL singer Daniel O’Donnell’s childhood home in Kincasslagh has just gone onto the property market for €400,000.

The owner of the property, Daniel’s sister Kathleen, and her husband John Doogan, have decided to downsize from the large detached dormer bungalow and move to a more suitable sized house with the two remaining children still living at home.

The 290 square-metre home , which is just 500 metres from the beach and five minutes drive from Donegal International Airport at Carrickfinn.

The property at The Hill, which boats a beautiful view out to Cruit Island and the Atlantic Ocean, also includes a small apartment, where Daniel lived before getting married.

Daniel’s former home features very well-proportioned accommodation including Four reception rooms and six substantial bedrooms, five of which have en-suite shower rooms.

Fellow Rosses native and family friend, Gavin Boyle of Orchard Lettings, based in Portadown, is marketing the property and taking enquiries on behalf of the Doogans.

The Mullaghduff man said the house would indeed be an ideal home for a large family, but could also be a great business opportunity or investment.

“The property would be ideal as a bead and breakfast, the rooms are en suite and the small apartment is a great addition. From a marketing perspective, as Daniel’s former family home, it also has a great selling point as a B&B business.

“Fans of Daniel regularly travel to Kincasslagh to see where he grew up and take pictures of his former home, and if someone were to open a B&B and market it well, it could potentially be a great business and another boost for the area,” said Mr Boyle.
