Daniel O’Donnell features on new Donegal Dubai jersey

The Donegal Dubai GAA Club in the UAE have announced the launch of a Special Edition Jersey in support of the Gemma’s Hope charity, created with the full support and blessing of national treasure, Daniel O’Donnell.

The Donegal Dubai club has gone from strength-to-strength after being set up last summer.

This new jersey will help with their growth and development in Dubai while also supporting a very worthwhile cause in Gemma’s Hope.

Gemma’s Legacy of Hope is an Association set up to honour the memory of Gemma Boyle, who brought joy and happiness to her family and her community during her lifetime.

“It is a charity that has been put forward by Daniel and has been heavily supported by Daniel and Majella since 2020,” said Donegal Dubai Chairman, Liam Doherty, who hails from Kilcar.

“It’s in support of counselling services in the Rosses and Fintown primary care area. Mental health is important to everyone and I think everyone is affected by it one way or another so to be able to help in any way is nice.”

Doherty explained how the O’Donnell link-up and the new jersey came to fruition.

“We had approached Daniel to do a video for our end of year ball in Dubai and somebody said that night is he an ambassador for us now and that got us thinking.

“The idea started there so we asked his consent and showed him the shirt and he was happy especially that it can raise funds for his chosen charity.”

The new jersey can be purchased at https://oreillysofficial.com/product/donegal-dubai-official-charity-jersey/ and costs €45 for an adult shirt, and €39.95 for a child.
