GARDAÍ investigating damage to a roof of a portacabin on church grounds believe it may have been jumped on a number of times causing it to collapse.
The incident happened at the Presbyterian Church on the Letterkenny Road in Convoy.
Damage was caused to the roof of a portacabin to the rear of the Church sometime between Midday on Saturday, May 20 and 9am on Monday, May 22.
A garda spokesperson said the incident has sparked safety concerns.
“It would appear that the roof may have been jumped on a number of times causing it to collapse in parts. We are anxious to further this investigation due to the criminal aspect of it but also in relation to the safety aspect. Behaviour such as this is criminal in nature but it is also highly dangerous.”
Anyone who observed any suspicious activity around the Church grounds over the weekend is urged to make contact with gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.
