Dungloe 1-8 Naomh Columba 0-4

Darren Curran hit the net as Dungloe defeated Naomh Columba at O’Donnell Park today to clinch the Intermediate Championship title.

Dessie Gallagher’s Dungloe had the better of a poor first half and led by 0-4 to 0-1 at the break.

They extended that advantage out to four by the 43rd minute when Oisin Bonner kicked a neat score.

Kevin McNern responded with a brilliant point for Naomh Columba but their shooting let them down on the day.

Dungloe grabbed a huge score in the 56th minute when Darren Curran slipped the ball to the net.

Ryan Gillespie and Daniel Ward swapped late points before Oisin Bonner’s score concluded the action.

Dungloe were much the better team and they will play in the senior championship next year. Before that, there is the Ulster Intermediate Championship and the Rosses men will be away to the Antrim champions in the quarter-final next month.
