The Curran brothers – Maxi and Barney – will be calling the shots for the Downings senior football team in 2024.
Maxi Curran was manager of the Donegal senior ladies team for six years and he had a number of club manager roles during that time.
His most recent role was with Truagh Gaels in County Monaghan.
Curran managed the ATU Donegal Sigerson team this season and he is also believed to be involved in a coaching capacity with the Moneyglass ladies in Antrim.
He has now decided to take on the reins with his home club Downings, and replaces Kevin ‘Cookie’ Gallagher as manager.
The Mevagh men won the Intermediate Championship last season and are looking forward to playing senior championship and Division 1 football this year.
Barney Curran trained Downings during the 2021 season as they won the Junior Championship title.
He is also currently involved with the Donegal minor ladies team, and is part of the Downings senior ladies management set-up as well.
