Josh McGee Cronolly bagged two second half goals as Donegal came from behind to defeat Mayo and win the Nickey Rackard Cup in Croke Park today.
Mickey McCann’s Donegal struck ten wides in the first half and were 0-12 to 0-8 down at the break.
Ruairi Campbell netted a goal in the 45th minute but Mayo were the better side and were five ahead with 57 minutes on the clock.
However, Donegal finished superbly with McGee Cronolly scoring two goals while Stephen Gillespie and Ruairi Campbell struck points.
McCann’s men held on for victory and will play in the Christy Ring Cup next year.
