Creeslough petition attracts 1,000+ signatures

A CAMPAIGN, first highlighted by the Donegal News, relating to the future of the Creeslough tragedy site, has reached something of a milestone.

The online petition ‘Halt the Reconstruction of Creeslough Explosion Site, Establish a Memorial Instead’ has attracted more than 1,000 signatures.

Leading the campaign to prevent development on the site, other than a memorial, are Donna and Hugh Harper. Their daughter, 14-year-old Leona, was one of the ten people who died in the October 2022 explosion.

Donna Harper has thanked all those who have signed the online petition to date. It was set up by her friend Gemma Heaney.

Gardaí continue to lead an investigation into the cause of the explosion.
