Cracking Intermediate semi-finals in store

BY RYAN FERRY

GAEIL Fhánada will meet Naomh Columba and Dungloe will face Termon in the Intermediate Championship semi-finals next week after GAA fans were treated to a super weekend of quarter-final action.
Gaeil Fhánada picked up a massive derby win when they beat Downings by 1-10 to 0-11 at the Bridge.
Alan McAteer was the hero of the hour with a late goal and his manager Aidan McAteer said he almost didn’t make the match after his flight was cancelled on Saturday.
“Alan is studying in Liverpool and we didn’t think he would make it. His flight was cancelled on Saturday but he landed in Derry this morning.
“I’m delighted for Alan. Nobody deserved that goal more than him. He’s 23 and he’s done both of his cruciates, and it’s just great to see a young lad like that coming in and banging in the winner.”
