TWO cousins from Ramelton have raised over €3,500 for Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland after they organised a fundraising Night at the Races in Lennon Lodge last Saturday.
Ciara and Chantelle Murray, who both work closely with children, see the prevalence of mental health on a daily basis.
Striving to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, the cousins organised the fundraiser to raise funds for the charity.
Blown away by the success of their fundraiser, Ciara took to social
media to express her gratitude.
“I think Chantelle summed it up for both of us when she said she was speechless.
“A massive €3,591 was raised at the night of the races for Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland.
“We can’t thank you all enough.
“Thank you to everyone who supported us in buying horses, raffle tickets, betting on horses, making donations and providing craic.”
Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland have been providing free mental health and suicide prevention education and training services to schools and colleges around Ireland for the past 10 years.
The cousins will complete their fundraising efforts by taking part in a sky dive for the charity on July 20.
