INDEPENDENT sitting Councillor Michael McBride told the Donegal News today he will stand in the new Letterkenny Local Electoral Area (LEA) as opposed to the Milford LEA.
The two areas which previously sat together and had 13 seats will now see seven seats in Letterkenny and three in the Milfords area.
It has not been confirmed at this stage whether or not the two LEAs will hold their meetings separately or together.
In interview with the Donegal News today Cllr McBride cited a number of reasons which led to his decision.
