Council to chop down ancient oak despite residents’ pleas

DONEGAL County Council has confirmed it is forging ahead with plans to chop down a 90-year-old Sessile Oak tree in Ballyraine, despite residents’ desperate pleas.

The tree, located between the entrances to Ballyraine Park and Orchard Grove, is due to be removed to make way for a new cycle path, which is part of the Letterkenny Active Travel Project.
