COUNCIL planners have sought more information on plans for a major development in Letterkenny.
In what would be the biggest development seen in Letterkenny for quite some time, the former Gleneany House building could be demolished to make way for a large residential and business development under plans lodged by M&B Kelly Partnership.
Retail units, a restaurant, an office, a new Baptist church, retail, apartments and student accommodation on the Port/Pearse Road form part of the ambitious plans to transform the heart of the Cathedral Town.
William Donoghue and Associates Ltd has been appointed to design the proposed 240,000sq foot development.
A decision on whether the plans would be given the green light was expected today (Friday). But, this has been stalled as planners have submitted a Further Information (FI) request to developers.
Planners have told the applicant that while the Planning Authority has “no objection in principle to the scale and density of the project”, they have asked for additional information.
