Council meeting adjourned after Creeslough families speak out

TODAY’S Plenary Meeting of Donegal County Council has been adjourned after families of the victims of the Creeslough tragedy hit out at council officials.

They attended this morning’s meeting with local councillor Tomás Sean Devine, who is calling on the council to purchase the Creeslough explosion site as we approach the third anniversary of the tragedy.

The local councillor’s motion read: “That this Council support my motion in this Council by purchasing the land site of the Creeslough Tragedy by a way of negotiation with the owner or CPO, if need be, and sit down with the families and design a memorial garden in memory of all those affected.”

If the motion is passed, he hopes it will bring some relief to the grieving families.
