ROAD users can now stay updated on the condition of the local highways and byways following the launch of Donegal County Council’s new winter website.
On Friday, the council unveiled their new interactive, bilingual and state-of-the-art www.donegalcocowinterweather.ie website.
The facility gives members of the public regular updates on weather conditions as well as allowing you to view current gritting routes and locations of the council’s public salt barns around Donegal.
The website also provides links to a number of weather stations around the county which gives up-to-date weather conditions and as well as a live on-location web cam.
In addition, Donegal people can also use the website to view road conditions on the sometimes treacherous Glenshane Pass and the Foyle Bridge in Derry.
The council’s Director of Roads, Mr John McLaughlin, said the website provides information to all road users as well as local and national media outlets.
“I would encourage people to follow us on Twitter @roadsDCC or @donegalcouncil and on the council’s facebook page,” Mr McLauglin said.
