DONEGAL County Council’s roads gritting service will be in operation this evening with freezing temperatures set to hit the county from this evening.
Met Éireann is forecasting showers of hail, sleet and even snow as the county experiences another dip in temperatures.
The council’s gritters will be operating on the usual routes from 7pm tonight.
Met Éireann say it will be cold this evening and tonight with clear spells and some well scattered showers. Some of the showers will be of hail, sleet or snow, with any snow showers mainly on higher ground.
Lowest temperatures will range from -2 to +1 Celsius in mostly light northerly breezes, with widespread frost and some ice developing.
Thursday will be cold and bright and while there will be sunny spells, there will be scattered light showers.
Again, some of the showers will turn to hail or sleet, with snow possible on higher ground.
