Met Éireann is forecasting cold weather tonight for this region, with clear spells and showers.

Some of the showers will be wintry with hail or sleet, and snow possible on higher ground.

Temperatures will fall to between -1 and +3 Celsius with patchy frost and ice in mostly moderate west or southwest winds.

Winds will be stronger at times in the vicinity of showers and near the north and west coasts.

This evening’s cold temperatures come after the county experienced another cold spell on Thursday and Friday.

Driving conditions were at times extremely difficult after falls of snow on higher ground.
