DONEGAL County Council has approved plans to turn the former Courthouse in Letterkenny into an exciting tourist attraction.
This comes following Monday’s plenary meeting in the Council House in Lifford where plans were approved to change the use of the building, to extend the building and to modify it.
With the support of €199,969 in THRIVE funding by the Northern and Western Regional Assembly through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Northern and Western Regional Programme 2021-2027, the building will be transformed into a tourist attraction with an integrated Tourist Information Point, a café, a gift shop, as well as ancillary offices.
The space will be used to host exhibitions, conferences, social gatherings, events and for educational and learning purposes.
The building, owned by the council since 2018, will serve as a valuable asset to the community.
