Council announces details for Christmas tree recycling

DONEGAL County Council has announced their programme for free natural Christmas tree recycling.

The programme began on Tuesday and will remain open until Saturday, January 27.

Domestic trees can be recycled for free at a number of locations across the county.

These include Letterkenny Recycling Centre, the Council Chip Depot in Newtowncunningham, Dungloe Recycling Centre, the Council Chip Yard at Bunbeg, Killult Quarry, Falcarragh, Stranorlar Recycling Centre, the Council yard in Glenties, Milford Recycling Centre, the Council Machinery Yard in Lifford, the Council Yard in Killybegs, Laghey Recycling Centre, Munday’s Field Car Park in Ballyshannon and Sea Front Car Park in Bundoran.

Also in Inishowen trees can be recycled at Carndonagh Recycling Centre, Nailors Row Car Park in Buncrana and the Council Chip Depot in Moville.

The Council Yards will open from Monday to Thursday from 9am until 4pm and on Friday from 9pm to 3pm. Full details of opening times for all recycling sites are available on the Council’s website.

The public are being reminded to not leave trees outside council premises after the specified times and trees left at non-listed sites will be considered illegal dumping.
