RENOWNED Donegal artists group An Cosan Glas are travelling to Italy this weekend where they will hold workshops with young children.
An Cosan Glas is an arts programme set up by well-known artists Deirdre Brennan, Annjo Carr and Seamus Kennedy in 1995 to promote the visual arts in the Donegal Gaeltacht.
The group’s annual outdoor sculpture trail is a highlight in West Donegal each summer attracting thousands of people who attend the Loinnir night.
Lionnir features giant illuminated sculptures exhibited amongst the sand dunes at Magheraroarty beach, wonderfully lighting up the night sky.
Creating beautiful sculputres with materials in the immediacy, the project generates a deep sense of communion with the natural environment.
This weekend the artists are travelling to Bologna where they will exhibit and host workshops for children, which have been very popular in Donegal any time they have been held.
