In pictures: Cór Ailigh, Letterkenny celebrated at Mayor’s reception

THE council chamber in Letterkenny was blessed with the beautiful singing of Cór Ailigh at a special Mayor’s reception on Thursday evening.

The members of the Letterkenny / Milford Municipal District were delighted to confer a Mayor’s Reception in honour of Cór Ailigh held at the Public Services Centre, Letterkenny last evening.

The award is in recognition of the choir’s continued contribution to music and Irish language since its establishment in 2001.

Some notable highlights in the choir’s 25-year history include performing at St. Peters Basilica in Rome, and a performance for a special Irish Mass on RTÉ 1.

Micheal Ó Giobúin (Choir Founder) accepted the award on behalf of the choir and dedicated the award and the choir’s success to all its members, both past and present.

Cllr Ciaran Brogan, Mayor, congratulated Cór Ailigh on its success and acknowledged its achievements to date.
