Donegal Junior League player-coach Christy Connaghan admitted that there were some nervous moments during Sunday’s second leg at Ballyare, but he was happy that his team managed to hold on for an aggregate win against the Inishowen Football League.
The experienced Connaghan, who now plays his football with Keadue Rovers, is part of John Francis Doogan’s management team.
However, the Kilmacrennan native is also part of the squad and came on in the closing exchanges to help the team close out the match.
“We’re very happy. I suppose over the two legs, it has been a bit of nip-and-tuck,” Connaghan told the Donegal News after the match.
