Concern over proposals to knock down oak tree

RESIDENTS in the Ballyraine area of Letterkenny are pleading with Donegal County Council to rethink their decision to chop down a 90-year-old Sessile Oak tree to make way for a new cycle path.

Work recently commenced on the new greenway cycle path which is part of the Letterkenny Active Travel Project.

The tree, located between the entrances to Ballyraine Park and Orchard Grove, is due to be removed to make way for the new cycle path.
