Community stunned by death of Erin (13)

THE local community in the Twin Towns have been devastated by the news that a 13 year old girl took her own life on Saturday.
The body of Erin Gallagher, a second year student at Finn Valley College, was found at her home on Donegal Road, Ballybofey on Saturday.
Gardai have confirmed they are investigating the death of the 13-year-old girl and are treating it as a personal tragedy. Her body was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital for post mortem examination as instructed by the Coroner. The post mortem is expected to take place today.
Yesterday, Erin’s mother Laura and older sister Shannon, a fourth year pupil at Finn Valley College, were being comforted at their home in Silverwood. The family had moved to Donegal from Scotland a number of years ago.
There have been claims that Erin had been the victim of bullying. And it is understood that much of the bullying she endured took place on social networking sites such as Facebook and ask.fm.
A Facebook page set up in her memory called ‘RIP Erin Gallagher’ has been inundated with comments since it was set up on Saturday evening. Already, more than 1,500 have ‘liked’ the page.
