Community spirit brings old hall back to life


PARTICIPANTS in a Community Employment Programme (CEP) in Killygordon have been highly praised by the local Parish Priest after they returned the run-down parochial hall to its former glory.

Built just over half a century ago, the hall at Crossroads, Killygordon, had fallen in to a bad state of repair in recent years.

However, the sponsors of the programme, Crossroads and Killygordon Enterprise (CAKE), offered the services of the CEP workers to Fr Patsy Arkinson Fr Arkinson jumped at the offer and the participants are currently putting the final touches to the new-look hall.

“Credit where credit is due. This is a fine example of co-operation in the community and also shows that these men take great pride in the quality of their work,” Fr Arkinson said.
