Finn Harps joint-captain Aislinn Coll is looking forward to the season ahead as they prepare for the club’s maiden season in senior football.
It’s a massive achievement for the club, with Trojan work being done behind the scenes over the last number of years to turn this plan into a reality.
Coll is re-joining the group this season after a year away from the club.
“I’ve been with the club for three years now. I wasn’t playing last year but I’m back in again this year and it’s really exciting.”
“I think there are 16 players returning so it’s very exciting. We’ve all played together for the last three years so we’d all know each other fairly well at this stage.”
The new Women’s Development League has certainly brought excitement to the club and its a competition that will help this young group of footballers to develop, competing against a host of new senior sides next season as well as Under 23 teams from some established Premier Division clubs.
Coll discussed that she’s looking forward to getting to know the number of new faces that have joined the group this year and is hopeful that they can pick up some wins in the season ahead.
“Hopefully we can get some wins along the way. I’m looking forward to getting to know the new girls as well and just seeing how the season goes.
