Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman has been ruled out for tonight’s Nations League game against Greece in Dublin.
The Killybegs man had to be substituted due to a knock in the 57th minute in the clash between Ireland and England on Saturday in the Aviva.
Coleman started on the right of a back three for Ireland. It seemed he suffered the knock after contesting an aerial ball when Harry Maguire landed on his left ankle.
The FAI have said Coleman will have to return back to Everton as a result of the injury.
Festy Ebosele, who is currently on a season long loan at Watford FC has been called up to replace Coleman.
It will be interesting to see how Hallgrimsson deals with this setback for tonight’s game against Greece.
