Seamus Coleman was outstanding as the Republic of Ireland claimed a famous victory tonight at the Aviva Stadium.
Ireland were strong underdogs for the Group F World Cup Qualifier with Portugal.
However, they won 2-0 with Troy Parrott scoring both goals.
Coleman (37) played at right wing-back and was part of an Ireland defence which stood firm throughout.
Portugal were reduced to ten men in the second half when Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off.
Ireland are still third in the group heading into the final game on Sunday against Hungary.
Coleman and his teammates will have to win that game to book a spot in the play-offs. The game on Sunday kicks off at 2pm in Budapest.
