The Republic of Ireland Senior Men’s football team is set to face off against their traditional rivals England in a Nations League tie, this Saturday at 5pm.
Both countries have a new manager in place for the game at the Aviva Stadium.
Iceland native Heimir Hallgrímsson is the new Ireland Head Coach, while England have former Republic of Ireland international Lee Carsley in charge.
Local Donegal man Séamus Coleman has been included in the squad just over a month shy of his 36th birthday.
If Coleman plays against England, it will be his 73rd cap for the senior team. He has scored one goal and registered six assists from right-back during his international career.
Coleman is the current captain of the national side and very much a fan favourite. He was born and raised in Killybegs.
Coleman’s international career has lasted over 13 years, and he made his first senior appearance in October 2010 against Wales.
The skipper is popular with Irish fans due to his incredible work ethic and the fact that he always puts 100% into every game.
He is also a fan favourite and club captain for Everton, while being the current longest serving player to a single premier league club, lasting over 15 years with the Toffees.
The game is available to watch for free on RTÉ2, RTÉ Player and UTV, with coverage starting at 4pm.
