THE young teenager who died following a quad bike accident in Killeavy in County Armagh was known in Loughanure.
Tiarnán Trainor (13) died in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast at the weekend, as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
Tiarnán attended Coláiste Mhuire, Loch an Iúir last summer, staying with the Bloe family, and was signed up to return on a course this year.
In a statement, authorities at Coláiste Mhuire expressed sympathy to his family.
“Tá lód ar ár gcroíthe i gColáiste Mhuire, Loch an Iúir leis an scéal tragóideach faoi bhás Tiarnán Trainor. Bhí Tiarnán linn ar chúrsa ‘A’ anuraidh agus bhí sé le teacht ar ais ar chúrsa ‘C’ i mbliana. Gasúr cineálta gealgháireach a bhí ann agus ba mhór an onóir dúinn mar choláiste go raibh sé linn. Déanaimid ár gcomhbhrón lena theaghlach agus lena chairde in Ardscoil Naomh Pól an Sruthán. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas síoraí dá anam.”
Tiarnán was laid to rest on Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dublin Road, Cloughoge, following Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Jonesborough.
Tiarnán, who was affectionately known as TT, is survived by his parents, Conor Trainor and Majella Campbell, Conor’s partner Sharon and Majella’s partner Scott, siblings Aimee and Ellie-Mae, and grandparents, Donal and Mary Trainor, and Gervase and Teresa Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked, that if desired, donations be made to the Paediatric and the Intensive Care Unit, the Royal Victoria Hospital, c/o Peter McGinn Funeral Directors, 41 Leitrim Road, Hilltown, BT34 5XS.
