Cloughaneely come back to beat Four Masters

Cloughaneely 2-9 Four Masters 2-7

Cloughaneely ensured a home tie in the preliminary quarter-final after coming back to win by two points over Four Masters at Páirc Naomh Fionnan.

The home side were behind for the majority of the game as Richard O’Rourke got an early goal for Four Masters and they continued to build on that.

Joe Leape then played a looping ball in behind the Cloughaneely defence for Seanan Carr for a terrific goal as the visitors led by 2-3 to 0-4 after 25 minutes.

But a well worked Cloughaneely goal finished by Ciaran McGeady had them back to within two points at the break.

And Four Masters hit just three points in the second half, while an unfortunate mistake from their ‘keeper Ryan Haughey saw the green flag raised again for Cloughaneely and John Fitzgerald hit four points to turn the game around.
