Cloughaneely bands off to Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

EXCITEMENT is building in Falcarragh as both the junior and senior Cloughaneely bands make their way to Wexford this weekend to take part in Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann –the pinnacle of Irish traditional music competitions.

The junior band will be aiming to make history as they go for an incredible three-in-a-row title win, while the senior band is hoping to go one better than last year, having narrowly missed out to St Roch’s of Glasgow in a thrilling contest.

This year’s Fleadh journey carries extra emotion following the loss of their beloved band member Enya McMurrough earlier this year.

Though Enya may not be there in person, her spirit, energy, and love for the music will be with them every step of the way. Enya’s presence will no doubt be felt strongly throughout the weekend.
