THE Cloughaneely junior and senior marching bands have once again made their community proud, bringing home significant accolades from the prestigious Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
The junior band, with an outstanding performance, clinched the All-Ireland title in the junior miscellaneous marching band section, while the senior band secured second place in their section, further solidifying their reputation on the national stage.
The Cloughaneely junior band, defending their title from the previous year, delivered a performance that captivated both the judges and the audience.
They faced stiff competition from St. Kevin’s band, a local favourite from Wexford.
This victory marks the second consecutive year that the band has claimed the All-Ireland title, a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the guidance of their mentors.
In a heartfelt message, the band expressed their gratitude to their teachers — Karen, Con, and Teresa — and their main organiser, Laura, whose tireless efforts were instrumental in securing this victory.
“We would like to thank them for all their time and hard work they gave to help our members win the junior miscellaneous marching band All-Ireland 2024, you are great mentors to our young members,” the band shared.
The Cloughaneely senior band also delivered a remarkable performance, earning second place in the highly competitive senior miscellaneous section.
The winners of this section hailed from Glasgow, but the Cloughaneely seniors held their own, demonstrating the depth of talent within the band and their ability to perform at the highest level.
The success of the Cloughaneely bands is not only a victory for the members and their mentors but also for the entire community.
