CLOUGHANEELY’S reserve team have stumbled somewhat through the championship, but they have a good record in the Intermediate ‘B’ competition, and have their eyes set on claiming the silverware again on Sunday.
Cloughaneely won the Intermediate Reserve crown in 2016, and were beaten in the decider two years earlier.
They have battled their way through to the final this year with Declan McGarvey, Ronan Cannon, Shane Coll, and Paddy Joe Doogan leading the way, while young lads like Neil Kelly, Noel Sweeney, and Finn McGinley have been catching the eye.
“We always seem to have a decent enough team and there is a good mixture of older fellas who give experience and young lads,” said Cloughaneely vice-captain, Eugene Maguire.
“Some of those younger lads possibly should be pushing through to the seniors.
“But they are playing for the reserves this year, and that gives us a good strong team.
“We have been in a lot of finals in recent years, and we will be aiming to win this weekend.”
