Closing date for Donegal silage competition approaching

THE Donegal Silage Competition is back for its fifth year and the closing date is fast approaching.

The competition is segmented into five categories including dairy, beef, sheep, round bale and new entrant.

There will be first and second prize winners selected from each category with first place winning a €300 Homeland voucher and second prize winning a €200 Homeland voucher.

To enter, entrants must collect silage sample bags from one of the six Donegal Homeland stores, take their sample and return it to the store or to their Farm Commercial Specialist.

Prizes will be offered as Homeland vouchers and cannot be exchanged for cash equivilant.

The closing date for the competition is January 19, 2024.
