THE new Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council is set to be elected at Monday’s Annual General Meeting of the Council.
Fine Gael Councillor Martin Harley is tipped be elected to the position, taking over from Fianna Fáil’s Liam Blaney.
Speaking to the Donegal News the Ballybofey native said he is both excited and nervous to be the first citizen of the county.
Cllr Harley said he is also excited to share this moment with his family.
With the Local Elections set to take place in 2024 it promises to be a busy year in office, but Cllr Harley is looking forward to the challenge.
