PICTURED are some of those who took part in a Climb of Errigal last Saturday, organised as a Celebration of Recovery for people associated with White Oaks Rehabilitation Centre, Muff and their families.
Almost 70 people took part in the event in what was a recognition that recovery from addiction is like climbing a mountain, a matter of one step at a time.
Over the past 12 months, 136 people availed of residential treatment for addiction at White Oaks, coming mainly from the North West area but also further afield.
For each person there is a journey which is rarely straightforward and it is the help and support of others which is crucial.
Saturday’s celebration was recognition of that truth and bringing it out into the midst of the community. This can be a source of hope and encouragement for others.
