Clerical changes for Raphoe Diocese

BISHOP of Raphoe Alan McGuckian has announced a reshuffle of clerical positions in the diocese.

In a statement released today, the Bishop’s Office revealed a number of changes including the decision by Canon Dinny McGettigan, Parish Priest of Raphoe to retire after 53 years.

Fr Eamonn Kelly, Administrator, Conwal and Leck will move to become the new Parish Priest in Raphoe. Monsignor Kevin Gillespie , Curate at Conwal & Leck will become the new administrator for Conwal & Leck and Vicar Forane.

Canon Francis McAteer will retire as Parish Priest of Carrick to become Assistant Priest in Glencolmcille.

Fr Denis Quinn, Parish Priest, Falcarragh will move to become the new Parish Priest in Carrick while Fr James Gillespie, Curate at Irish Martyrs, Letterkenny is moving to become the new Parish Priest in Falcarragh.

Fr Brendan Ward is returning from Rome to become Curate at Irish Martyrs and Official of the Derry Marriage Tribunal. Curate Fr Paul McGeehan, Glencolmcille will move to take over the same role in Glenvar and Fr Damian Nejad is returning from being on loan to Dromore Diocese to be Curate at Conwal and Leck.

The appointments will take effect on August 20.
