Church signs damaged in Creeslough

GARDAI are investigating two separate incidents of criminal damage to church signs in Creeslough.

The first incident occurred in September 2022, when a sign for St Columba’s Church of Ireland, Cashel, was broken. This sign was at the junction for Doe Castle in Cashel on the R245. That sign was salvaged and re-erected.

The second incident is believed to have occurred on February 10 of this year. A sign that was erected at the Junction for Carrigart (R245 and the N56) was bent and destroyed.

Both signs are aluminium and brown in colour.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have any relevant information in relation to these incidents to make contact with Gardaí in Milford on (074) 9153060.

“We urge the public to please contact gardaí without delay should they ever witness vandalism or mindless acts of criminal damage.”
