AN investigation is underway after a child was struck by a car in Letterkenny at the weekend.

The road traffic collision occurred in the cinema car park on Sunday, October 5 at approximately 5.15pm.

The child was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment. Her injuries are not life threatening in nature.

A garda spokesperson said: “We are not seeking anyone in relation to the incident as all parties involved were spoken to at the scene but we are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to get in touch with us. If anybody was in that area with a dash-cam, please make the footage available to Gardaí. Letterkenny Gardaí may be reached on (074) 9167100 in connection with the incident.”
