WITH tickets set to sell out for Sunday’s fundraising concert in Letterkenny to help victims of last week’s floods, the event organiser has appealed for volunteers to help out on the day.
A host of country music stars headlined by singing sensations Daniel O’Donnell and Nathan Carter will take to the stage of the 1700-capacity Aura Leisure Centre on Sunday for the Flood Aid for Inishowen Concert.
The extravaganza, which has been organised by Letterkenny woman, Deirdre Grant, will feature a host of other local and international stars including Declan Nearney, Jacqui Sharkey, Dominic and Barry Kirwan and many others, who have all pledged their free time to help raised funds for the flood victims in Inishowen.
Tickets, priced at €30, have been selling fast and are available to purchase via www.ticketweb.ie as well as from a number of local outlets including Aura Leisure Centre, Boyce’s Centra in Falcarragh, Supervalu in Buncrana and Doherty’s Newsagent in the Diamond, Carndonagh.
Doors open at 1.30pm and music will begin at 3pm. A park and ride will service will be in operation.
Due to the scale of the event, Mrs Grant said volunteers are also being sought to help out on the day. Anyone who can give two hours of their time to help out at the car park of the leisure centre, or act as stewards in the main foyer, on the stairs, in the concert hall and outside the centre are asked to e-mail volunteersfloodaid@gmail.com.
Meanwhile, a fundraising dance also takes place in the Plaza Buncrana on Thursday, September 7, headlined by Robert Mizzell and the Country Kings. Admission is €15.
