LETTERKENNY Chamber and Letterkenny Tidy Towns are joining forces for a special tree-planting initiative later this month.
In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the town’s Chamber of Commerce, the two organisations are planting trees and are inviting individuals and businesses to partake in the initiative by sponsoring the newly-planted saplings.
The event at Sentry Hill in Letterkenny will take place on Saturday, February 22, from 10.30am, and members of the public and local businesses are invited to take part in this meaningful initiative.

The project will help contribute to the town’s sustainability and biodiversity efforts. Those who arrive on the day will be awarded a special certificate to commemorate their contribution and will have the opportunity to plant their own tree for themselves.
Gerard McCormick, Chairperson of Letterkenny Tidy Towns, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, saying: “Tree planting is a vital part of our work in Letterkenny Tidy Towns, and we are delighted to see businesses and individuals coming together to support a greener future.”
Claire McDonough, President of Letterkenny Chamber, also highlighted the significance of the event: “The Chamber has a long history of supporting the local community, and what better way to mark this milestone than by contributing to the enhancement and sustainability of Letterkenny?”
