DONEGAL GAA disciplinary chiefs are to meet tonight to examine the referee’s report from a game last Sunday from which a player had to be taken by ambulance to hospital.
St Eunan’s footballer, Ronan Lennon, was taken to Letterkenny General Hospital after sustaining facial injuries in a brawl that broke out towards the end of his team’s Division 1 Reserve game against Naomh Conaill of Glenties at O’Donnell Park on Sunday.
The player sustained cuts and bruises to his face as well as two black eyes. He was discharged from LGH on Sunday night after receiving treatement.
A player from the Naomh Conaill club was also taken, by car, to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
The report by the match referee, Ms Ciara Foy, was lodged with the Donegal Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) earlier this week.
“We have received the referee’s report and we will deal with it at our meeting on Thursday night,” Sean McGinley, secretary of the Donegal CCC, told the Donegal News.
