Cavalcade of bikers to raise funds for Ukraine

A CAVALCADE of motorbikes will roar into Letterkenny to raise money for Ukraine.
Kevin Breslin, of online forum Shamrock Motorcycle Tourers Group, is behind the fundraiser, which takes place on Sunday, April 3.
Along with the help of his admin team, Arron Cooley, Shaun Brogan, Coilean Black, Martin Graham and Curtis Elliot, Kevin is taking part in the fundraiser to help raise much needed funds for the people of Ukraine who have been left displaced since Russia’s invasion. He is also calling on any bikers who want to join in to support the worthy cause to get in touch.
The group will set off from Templemore Sports Complex in Derry on Sunday, April 3 at 11am, making their way to Letterkenny for 12.45pm. They will park behind Charlie’s Café for a short time before making their way down Main Street between 12.30pm-12.45pm. They will then make a return journey to Derry.
Speaking to the Donegal News, Letterkenny man Kevin Breslin urged any other motorcyclists wishing to take part to get in touch. The cost is £10 per bike.  He is also calling on volunteer photographers to capture the action on the stretch of N13 between Derry and Letterkenny.
“I’m sure many of you are sitting at home wondering what you can do to help those poor people in Ukraine. Well, now is your chance to take part in ‘a message to Ukraine’. Blue and yellow ribbons will be provided for as many as we can. We are seeking £10 per bike.”
Kevin said he is expecting a large turnout.  Once in Letterkenny the group will stop for an hour and then head back to the Guildhall in Derry, where members of the public can view the bikes. Participants should arrive at the Guildhall between 2.30pm and 3pm.
“Ukrainians are being rained on by bombs and bullets. I am calling out to all motorbike clubs and groups to take part in this act of solidarity. Anyone with two wheels can join,” said Kevin. Anyone wishing to donate can do so via ‘Shamrock Motorcycle Tourers donation to Ukraine, Help for Ukraine on Go Fund Me.
